The W series plays with the concept of weightlessness, brought to life by an über-fine top in natural stone which contrasts with slender tubular legs in metal which are “locked into place” by a simple click of a brass disc. The geometric contrast of triangle and circle creates an arresting juxtaposition and the result is a bold modern piece of furniture. Available in both Honed and Lithoverde® finishes in Bianco Carrara, Gris du Marais and Pietra d’Avola. Made in Italy.

The simple cylinder is a perfect starting point for a beautiful object carved from stone, not a material that immediately springs to mind when talking about lighting. Available in both classic Bianco Carrara and in the warm dark tones of Pietra d’Avola, the Silo lamp gives off a beautifully soft and seductive light. It can be configured either as a single lamp or as a cluster of three, or, for a real showstopper, it comes as a chandelier composed of 26 separate lamps.

True to its name, Farfalla, the Italian word for ‘butterfly’, this hanging lamp floats and flutters. The long, slender casing is carved from a single piece of Bianco Carrara marble, containing an LED lamp, exuding a delicate, soft light through the near-transparent stone. Farfalla was designed by Italian architect and interior designer Marco Carini and can be used either as a single piece or in a combination of three, suspended at various heights to accentuat. Like a cloud of migrating butterflies, the beauty of the Farfalla light is accentuated when it is used in a configuration of three, angled and oriented depending on the effect you wish to achieve. Made in Italy.

Urano is a sphere-like lamp created by hollowing out a cube of Bianco Carrara marble. The deceptive simplicity, the purity of form and the sense of suspension all contribute to making Urano seem more like a celestial body than a lamp.It all starts with a block of marble. “I wanted to stretch the marble, making the profile as thin as possible, right down to almost 4 millimetres so that the eye sees just the finest of edges, almost like a veil. Then, gradually, moving away from the rim, the marble becomes thicker. The choice of marble is crucial. It must be pure, with not a single deformity or impurity.” Made in Italy.

The generous dimensions and unexpected design of John Pawson’s Omphalos coffee table make an instant impact. What immediately draws the eye are its surprising dimensions, whether in the one-metre or one-and-a-half-metre version. Unusually low, it seems to hover just above the ground, an effect created by its extraordinary design which conceals the base and lends sense of extreme lightness to a monumental piece. Available in a choice of circular or square form in Bianco Carrara marble and Crema d’Orcia limestone. Omphalos most certainly lives up to its name, which comes from the ancient Greek word for “navel”, and refers to the focus of activity or attention. Made in Italy.
